Curse of the Lottery
It’s everyone’s dream to win the lottery and be filthy rich…. Exactly what these lottery winners dreamed of, but things didn’t always work out for them, some might even say they were cursed.
Poor Abraham Shakespeare. In 2009 he won $30 million in the Florida lottery, but he never was able to spend it… Authorities reported that 47 year old Abraham Shakespeare was shot twice in the chest by a .38 caliber pistol sometime in April of 2009 and wasn’t reported missing till November 2009.
His body wasn’t found until January 2010 and it was under a slab of concrete.
Of course there is 40 year old DeeDee Moore of Tampa was found guilty in his murder. She befriended him right before he vanished as she realized he was just giving his money away to people who asked for it. She offered to manage what he had left, but instead, killed him and kept his winnings.
And who could forget David Lee Edwards was an unemployed ex-convict when he won a part of a $280 million lottery jackpot back in 2001. At the time it was the third largest lottery pot in U.S. history. He received a lump sum of $27 Million after taxes.
He seemingly did well for a while until he got kicked out of his million dollar Florida home for failing to pay back homeowners association dues. Within a few years of winning he somehow lost all his winnings and went on to live in a storage unit surrounded by human feces. He ended up passing away at 58 yrs old at a Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
